My bags are packed...

  1. The use of travelling is to regulate the imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
Someone special texted that to me today and then suggested that I shouldn't "fret, as the times you are a bit off balance will be the times you will remember".

  2. Remember to change the time on your watch +1hr... Anna and I once almost missed our connection as we were eating Sbarro pizza and got distracted!

Glad to report I have arrived in Hong Kong to the oh so familiar heat and humidity. Being treated royally by my hosts Judi and Peter Ellis at the Marinier's CLub. Harbour Views from my bedroom. Managed to have lunch with Michelin before she leaves for Chang Mai at the weekend. Then Afternoon Tea at the Helena May. The Joys of HK.

  9. Bright eyed early today thanks to jetlag. Watched the day start Hong Kong style from my window. First cruise ship of the day docked. Sampans plying their trade about the harbour, Star Ferry crossing from Wan Chai - the noise of glass breaking as reclcying vans do the rounds of the big hotels in the neighbourhood. The hammer drills of building sites haven't started yet. Building and rebuilding continues apace. So many changes everytime I visit. Since last Feb there is a complete new MTR (undgerground train) line open. The depth of the new stations and superb modern finish to them makes you wonder why Glasgow can't manage a wee link from the city centre to the airport!! Off out to watch the locals start the day with Tai Chi exercises in the park. Maybe I will join in....

  10. Trip and I will see Julia and Mike at the NC State football game tomorrow, Sat., so we will tell them of your trip! They enjoyed HK and visited many of the sites that you recommended.
Safe travels to you and Irene. Angela
